ADHD Skills Group for Adults

Learn about ADHD and develop healthy coping skills to improve functioning in a wide range of settings

Adults with ADHD often struggle with routines, follow-through, organization, emotional regulation, and relationships. If you find yourself asking why certain challenges keep showing up despite motivation and effort, you’re not alone. This skills-based ADHD group is designed to help you better understand how your brain works and how ADHD shows up in your everyday life.

You’ll gain a clear, practical understanding of ADHD and executive functioning, the mental skills that support planning, prioritizing, starting tasks, managing emotions, and staying engaged. When executive functioning is impacted, even simple tasks can feel harder to begin or sustain. These experiences are common for adults with ADHD and are not a reflection of laziness, lack of effort, or ability.

Insight is helpful, especially when it leads to meaningful change. Alongside education, you’ll learn practical strategies that can be applied to real life, not just talked about in theory. The focus is on creating systems that reduce feelings of being overwhelmed, support follow-through, and work with your brain rather than against it.

The group is informed by the work of Dr. Thomas Brown (2008) and explores six key areas of executive functioning that are often relevant for adults with ADHD:

Activation: organizing, prioritizing, and getting started

Focus: sustaining and shifting attention

Effort: managing energy, alertness, and pace

Emotion: regulating frustration and emotional responses

Memory: improving working memory and recall

Action: self-monitoring and regulating behavior

By better understanding both the practical and emotional sides of ADHD, many people develop greater self-awareness and self-compassion. This group offers structure, education, and concrete tools to help you navigate daily life with more clarity, consistency, and confidence.
