Marina Pate, LPC
Marina is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with couples and individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges. She believes that meaningful growth begins in a space where you are genuinely heard, accepted, and free to be yourself.
Marina’s clients appreciate the warmth, compassion, and authenticity she brings to each session. While therapy often involves navigating difficult emotions and experiences, Marina believes there is also room for humor, self-compassion, and new perspectives along the way.
When working with couples, Marina primarily utilizes Imago Relationship Therapy, an approach that explores how early relationships and attachment experiences influence the patterns, triggers, and conflicts that emerge in adult partnerships. Through this work, she helps couples develop a deeper understanding of one another, communicate more effectively, and respond to each other with greater empathy and intention. Her goal is to help partners move beyond recurring cycles of conflict and build stronger, more meaningful connections.
In her work with individuals, Marina incorporates cognitive approaches to treating anxiety, depression, and trauma. She helps clients recognize how their thoughts influence their emotions and behaviors, identify patterns that may be keeping them stuck, and develop healthier, more balanced ways of thinking. Her approach encourages both practical skill-building and deeper self-understanding, helping clients create meaningful and lasting change.
Marina received her B.S in Psychology and M.S in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Columbus State University. She has a special interest in exploring how our childhood experiences shape the way we connect with others today and how mental health can influence the different versions of ourselves we show at work, with our families, and in relationships.
Marina joined Restorative Counseling in 2026 and offers sessions in the Buckhead and Roswell offices, as well as virtually. Outside the office, she enjoys reading, weight training, watching Yankees baseball, and spending time with her nieces.
